There was a thunderstorm
when we arrived at Cape St Mary's Interpretation
Center. We were afraid we wouldn't be able to see
anything through the heavy fog, but the center's guide
said to us, "just follow the cliff and walk about half
an hour, you will see the birds." Really? "Yes,
guaranteed," was his reply.
Sure enough, as we were walking, we heard chirping. It
sounded like a herd of birds. Once we reached the huge
rock at the end of the trail -- my goodness! There were
thousands and thousands of birds resting on that rock,
and we were so intimately close to them!
